Ready to declutter your life and become more productive? Dive into my story – filled with minimalist practices that have made me a happier, healthier version of myself.

Who knows… maybe you’ll find something resonant along the way!

Before minimalism, I had a smorgasbord of bad habits.

But after embracing the concept and eliminating unnecessary things from my life – both physical possessions and mental clutter – I ended up creating some pretty great new routines!

These minimalist habits have allowed me to save money while still maintaining organization in all aspects of my daily activities.

From organizing tasks into priority lists; practicing mindfulness on a regular basis; limiting news consumption (my schedule’s thank you!).

There are plenty ways that minimalism has made its mark on who I am today – not to mention this neat list here which is basically unending…

10 Minimalists habits to change your life

Walk every day

We all know the feeling of signing up for a gym membership full of enthusiasm and then losing our vigor with every step across its doors – hence, not achieving those goals that we worked so hard to reach.

It’s like an awkward dance between us and our inner self: no matter how much willpower you have at first glance… it won’t always last!

Especially if crowds make your heart race faster than any treadmill could ever do.

Taking a stroll out of the house is one great way to de-stress and get your mind off work during this pandemic, as long as you can do so safely in less crowded areas.

If that’s not an option for you right now, don’t worry!

You can still keep up with exercising by taking advantage of all those awesome Youtube tutorials on yoga or even HIIT workouts; they’ll help ensure working from home doesn’t take too much away from your fitness routine.

Better wardrobe

Ahhh, the dreaded realization of too many ill-fitting clothes and wasted money that came with it – How I feel your pain!

With minimalism making its comeback in 2020, sometimes our wardrobe needed a good decluttering session to recognize how much we really don’t need.

It’s like freeing ourselves from an uncomfortable prison cell where overspending was keyed up as β€˜the door code’.

Gladly enough, some folks can actually make back their investments by selling what they no longer wear or never did; believe me when I say there were items involved that even had tags!

Now THAT’S ridiculous.

I’m digging minimalism and this year, I’ve kept it simple by only buying two new pieces: plain t-shirts.

Not stopping there, my eye is on developing a capsule wardrobe down the line with staples in earthy tones like grey, mahogany olive green and black – these colors look great on me!

In terms of shopping for clothes though…I always remember to buy when necessary (not just ’cause things are discounted) as that’s personal too; at the end of the day your style should express who you are!

Writing

Writing was something of a chore before minimalism swept in; relegated to homework and work, it had no role beyond that.

But since I picked up the habit here on this blog β€” after my foray into minmalism– jotting down all thought taking refuge within my head has made for an enormously rewarding experience!

No longer do words loiter about like backspaces cluttering your mind – take them out onto paper instead and remember what insight they bring you whenever need be!

Best yet is going off to sleep with peace of mind knowing full well those ideas, duties, worries have been given their own safe haven outside the confines of your brain.

Ahh…the joys brought by putting pen (or pencil!) to paper indeed never cease amaze me πŸ™‚

Turn off the phone at night

Let’s face it, I was an absolute binge-watching machine!

The blue light from my phone practically replaced the sun as I lay in bed for hours at a time, getting absolutely no sleep until 3 or 4 A.M.

This addiction not only diminished my concentration; it also took its toll on all aspects of life: physical health and relationships included.

But like any good lesson learned, this experience has taught me to use digital media sparingly – just enough so that work and entertainment get done without sacrificing precious Zs!

I’m a stickler for order, even when it comes to my phone.

Every night I take out the virtual trash and give my device an external spiffing-up before turning in -no matter how late (or early) that may be!

But no amount of screen swiping can help me with another old-school necessity; namely, getting up at the same time every day!

That’s why there will always be room on my dresser next to the bed for an trusty alarm watch – so minimalism or not: its purpose is timeless Ò€¦ like love !

Shopping with a list

My past relationship with shopping was love at first buy.

I had the most crammed wardrobe full of clothes, music and movies that were about to spill out if it wasn’t for handy furniture specially purchased as storage.

Nowadays my approach is much more practical – think ahead so you don’t have buyer’s remorse later!

Planning your shop also helps prevent any spontaneous purchases; a list can be just like an old-fashioned map helping you whisk through stores without succumbing to those tempting wants over needs..

Tracks your expenses and incomes

minimalist habits

Money come and goes, but with a well-documented spreadsheet of past expenses I’ve got an immeasurable level of control!

Planning my spending helps me to distinguish between needs and wants that the occasional treat can be genuinely enjoyable.

Nowadays it’s mostly food bills on there – no obscure random purchases anymore!

Make the bed every day

When I heard that making the bed is a key to starting your day off right, it didn’t really strike me as β€˜the one.’

Even with minimal belongings, taking time out of my already-hectic routine seemed like an unnecessary task.

But once I decided to give it a shot – wow!

It’s so satisfying getting up in the morning and seeing an orderly looking room; not quite believing how much simpler life can be when you make your bed first thing!

And then at night? Nothing compares… waking up or coming back home only to find everything neatly tucked away sets things straight before anything else gets tackled throughout the day.

Who knew such small efforts could have such big impacts?

Organize your chores with a list

Want to get a jump start on your day?

Don’t just β€œwing it,” create a minimalist habit tracker!

Many of us are juggling multiple tasks and objectives, so document what you need to do with pen (or pencil!) and paper.

Once you finish an item, check it off β€” this’ll give you the motivation spurt needed for tackling all those future goals without getting overwhelmed.

With lists like these in hand, nothing can stand between today’s success story – that’s YOU!

Being grateful

Ready to ditch the rat race and embrace minimalism?

We all want something shiny, new, and fresh but be warned that this type of lifestyle can wreak havoc on your bank account.

Instead of feeling envious when someone has the newest item in town, show some appreciation for what you have – taking care of things often renders them better than any newer model!

Stop caring what others think of you

minimalist flowers and paper hearts

When I look back at my teenage years, it’s really no surprise that the number of hours wasted on worrying about others’ opinions would go into double digits.

But now I know better: nobody knows what works best in life except for you!

Of course, advice from family and friends is always welcome but must be taken with a grain of salt; ultimately we decide our own destiny.

Not everyone will take kindly to us – after all, not everybody can have good taste πŸ˜‰ – so as long as you strive to love yourself first and foremost then everything else should work out just fine!

Because we can’t live our short life trying to make others happy, as long as you do not hurt anybody, be yourself and do not let others disturb your spirit.
